Dallas star had brain trauma

Sports at a glance

AUSTIN, Texas — Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland had a brain abnormality linked to repeated head trauma when he killed himself after a high-speed chase with police in November 2025.

The findings of a postmortem analysis of Kneeland’s brain tissue were released Tuesday by his family through the Concussion and CTE Foundation. Researchers at the Boston University CTE Center determined Kneeland was in stage one of four of chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Kneeland was 24.

He had played at Western Michigan University, before he was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft.

Stage 4 goes to Pedersen

FOIX, France — Danish rider Mads Pedersen surged away in a sprint finish to win the fourth stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday, and Norwegian rider Torstein Traeen took the yellow jersey from defending Tour champion Tadej Pogacar.

Pedersen attacked with 300 yards left and was well clear when he crossed the line ahead of American rider Quinn Simmons, his Lidl-Trek teammate, and Spaniard Raul Garcia.

It was a third career stage win on the Tour for Pedersen, a powerful rider who is a former world road race champion.

Traeen finished in eighth place and was far ahead of four-time Tour champion Pogacar, who did not contest the stage win.

Pogacar was in the main pack along with two-time champion Jonas Vingegaard, his main rival. They both rolled in 12 minutes, 59 seconds behind Traeen after nearly 4¢ hours in the saddle.

Starting at $3.83/week.
