Cavaliers QB wants year 7

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris has continued his fight for a seventh season of eligibility by filing a lawsuit against the NCAA.
Morris’ agent confirmed the move on Tuesday. The NCAA denied Morris’ medical redshirt waiver and appeal last month, and he is seeking a preliminary injunction in a Charlottesville court.
Morris could be making an argument similar to Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who received a preliminary injunction from a Mississippi judge on Feb. 12. The NCAA in a statement says this and other lawsuits could rob high school students of a chance to compete at the college level.
FCC wants to hear from fans
The Federal Communications Commission is seeking public comments on the ongoing shift of live sports from broadcast channels to streaming services.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr announced the request for comment Wednesday. The comment period runs through March 27 and replies to the comments are due April 13.
Last year, the House Judiciary Committee requested briefings from the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB on whether antitrust exemptions should still be granted for coordinating their broadcast television rights.
The Sports Broad-casting Act exemption passed in 1961 applies only to broadcast television.
