Bucs invite 6 more to camp

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates announced the names of six additional non-roster invitees that will be at spring training when it opens on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Florida.

The list includes catcher Derek Berg, first baseman Nick Cimillo, infielder Alika Williams, infielder-outfielder Mitch Jebb and pitchers Michael Darrell-Hicks and Nick Dombkowski.

Berg played 88 games last season in the Pirates organization between Low-A Bradenton and Double-A Altoona. He batted .230.

Cimillo spent the entire season with the Curve where he hit .239 with 20 home runs and 71 RBIs in 112 games. Darrell-Hicks was acquired from the Angels off waivers last season and pitched only two innings for the Pirates .

Dombkowski pitched at three levels of the Pirates’ farm system and had an ERA of 5.12. In 122 games last season, Jebb batted .265 with 33 stolen bases, 55 runs scored and 34 RBIs in 122 games with the Curve. Williams spent all of last season at Triple-A for the Pirates where he batted .268 in 103 games.
