NHL alum, Hall of Famer Bob Pulford dies

Bob Pulford, a Hockey Hall of Fame player who went on to a lengthy career as a coach and general manager, has died. He was 89.
A spokesperson for the NHL Alumni Association said the organization learned of Pulford’s death from his family. Pulford helped the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup four times during his 14-year stretch with them from 1956-70.
He spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings in the early ’70s before coaching them for the following five years. Pulford then ran the Chicago Blackhawks’ front office as general manager or senior vice president of hockey operations for three decades from 1977-2007.
World Cup coach fired
RABAT, Morocco — World Cup participant Tunisia has parted with coach Sami Trabelsi and his coaching staff following their last 16 exit at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Tunisian Federation of Football says in a statement on Facebook “The executive committee has decided to terminate by mutual consent the contractual relationship with the entire technical staff of the national team.”
It gives no further details. Tunisia lost to Mali on penalties in the last 16 of the Africa Cup despite having a player more for most of their match. The team previously failed to impress in Group C.
The Cartage Eagles were drawn in Group F at the World Cup with the Netherlands, Japan and the winner of a European playoff involving Albania, Poland, Sweden and Ukraine.
