Texas Rangers prospect Paxton Kling, a standout baseball player at Central High School and Penn State, has been doing quite well for himself in the team's organization. His "Fall Stars" selection proves it.
Kling was picked on Wednesday to play in the Arizona Fall League's Fall Stars Game this Sunday night in Scottsdale, Arizona. The game will be broadcast live on MLB Network at 8 p.m.
Kling and three other Rangers prospects were picked to play in the game that has the top prospects from each of the 30 MLB teams split up into two teams who then play against each other. After the regular baseball season was over, Kling was sent to Arizona along with other Rangers prospects to compete in the league. The Rangers' No. 1 prospect, Sebastian Walcott, is also on the team with Kling.
Kling, in 14 games, batted .364 with 12 RBIs and 12 walks. A seventh-round draft pick in 2025 by Texas out of Penn State, Kling made the jump to Double-A this past season with the Frisco Roughriders, who made it to the Texas League playoffs and played in the postseason in centerfield.
Kling began the season with the Rangers High-A ballclub, the Hub City Spartanburgers, in the South Atlantic League.
In last year's Fall Stars Game, Kevin McGonigle of the Tigers, along with Haden Smith and Sam Antonacci of the White Sox, played and contributed for their respective teams. All three started this season for their Major League teams.
