PIAA field set
The PIAA finalized the qualifier list for its high school golf individual championships set for Oct. 19-20 at Penn State on Monday.
Just one golfer, Class 2A girls player Laney Beers of Fort LeBoeuf out of District 10, received an at-large bid, meaning Hollidaysburg's Tyler Steiner, who finished third in the District 6 Class 3A boys championship with a score of 2-under par 70, will not get a chance to compete at states.
All 72 positions in the Class 3A boys field were filled by qualifiers who shot better than 100, so no open spots were available for at-large bids.
State College's Luke McGraw and Charlie Ladrido, who finished at 3-under par 69, will be the only two District 6 representatives in that field.
