HUNTINGDON -- Two teams tied for first place in week 9 action of the Big Orange Golf League held at the Huntingdon Country Club.
The Bob Lamey-Gerry Huggler team finished at 5-4 as did the Geoff Clarke-Ed Gargula team.
Two teams went 4-5: Phil Thompson-Larry Newton and Alan Herbster-Keith Black.
Clarke was the low gross winner (39) while Herbster was the low net winner (33). The shot of the day was Clarke's birdie putt on No. 9 to win the match and earn the tie for first place.
Rick Laub was subbing for Gargula.
Sylvan Hills
HOLLIDAYSBURG -- The team of Lou Ann Donlan, Carol Young and Linda Derman shot a 29 to win the Strings and Grenades Scramble held at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.
Placing second was the team of Connie Angeski, Sue Green and Donna Buck at 30.
In men's action, the team of John Roland, Andy Cameron, Herb Bolger and Dave McCoy won the Butch Focht Tournament with a 32. Finishing second, on a cardoff, with a 36 was the team of Robin Weaver, Gary Zimmerman, Bill Blanset and David Johns.
They won over the team of Joe DeGennaro, George Mitchell, Jeff Vaughn and Scott McGrain.
