HUNTINGDON -- The Tyrone girls tennis team improved to 3-2 on Wednesday, thanks to a 4-0 win over Huntingdon in high school play.

The Lady Eagles got singles wins from Ezri Bumgarner and Jocelyn Diel. They also earned doubles victories from the tandems of Cassidy Fleck-Grace Zimmerman and Cassie Behrer-Addison Davis.

SINGLES: 1, Bumgarner, T, def. Boonie, 6-0, 6-0; 2, Diehl, T, def. Stapleton, 6-0, 6-1

Central picks up No. 3

CLEARFIELD -- Central is 3-1 after its 5-0 shutout in girls tennis at Clearfield.

The Lady Scarlet Dragons picked up singles victories from Breslyn Beech, Taryn Walters and Aubry Eckman. In doubles play, the team of Gabby Decker and Kara Weidlich, along with Laura Longwell and Abbi Coppersmith, also won.

Heights soars

PATTON -- Ella Lamb scored twice, and Autumn Groer had a goal and an assist to lead Cambria Heights to a 5-0 win over Moshannon Valley in high school girls soccer.

Emma Gilbey had six saves to earn a shutout for the Lady Highlanders.

Gergely excels

EBENSBURG -- In Penn Cambria's 25-19, 25-21, 25-23 girls volleyball win over Bishop Carroll Catholic on Tuesday, Lily Gergely had 14 digs, 17 kills, six blocks, an ace and an assist.

Maddy Kittell added 31 assists and 15 digs, and Kate Eckenrode finished with 16 digs, nine kills and an ace.
