BEDFORD -- The Central Cambria boys and girls high school cross country teams cruised to victories over Bedford and Forest Hills on Wednesday afternoon.
Reed Takacs captured the boys race for the Red Devils with a time of 17:21.80, which established a new Bedford course record.
Chloe May of Bedford took the girls race with a time of 18:43.70 as she also set a new course record.
The CC boys earned victories over Forest Hills (21-40) and Bedford (15-62). Meanwhile, the CC girls claimed wins over Forest Hills (25-35) and Bedford (20-59).
Paige Alexander was the Lady Red Devils' highest finisher in fourth place with a time of 21:02.90.

Kline, Hoover win
RURAL VALLEY -- Mason Kline of Cambria Heights captured the boys race against Marion Center and West Shamokin with a time of 20:27, while Sierra Hoover was first for the Heights' girls with a time of 22:44.
The Cambria Heights boys went 1-1 on the afternoon, while the girls were 0-2 in a meet with Marion Center and West Shamokin.
The Highlanders defeated West Shamokin by a 24-31 score, while they lost to Marion Center, 25-34. Meanwhile, the Lady Highlanders dropped to MC by a 21-46 score and to WS by a 24-36 final.

Pirates take top spots
WARFORDSBURG -- In a meet where team points weren't counted and times weren't reported, Williamsburg claimed the top spots in both the boys and girls races.
Tanner Ross crossed the finish line first for the Blue Pirates, while Emma Stone was first for the Lady Blue Pirates.
Chris Corle was Northern Bedford's top finisher at second for the boys, while Lily Miller was third for the girls.

Westover leads Portage
COMMODORE -- The Portage boys, behind a first place finish from Nolan Westover in a time of 19:45, earned two wins on the day, beating Purchase Line (23-32) and Homer Center (21-36).
The Lady Mustangs defeated Homer-Center by a 20-38 final, but fell to Purchase Line by a 21-35 score.
Josephine White was Portage's highest girl finisher as she was in third place with a time of 24:30.

Van Kleunen shines
CLEARFIELD -- Julia Van Kleunen topped the girls field for Hollidaysburg with a time of 20:56 as the two Golden Tigers teams went 2-0 on the day.
Mason Kephart was in second place for the boys with a time of 17:36.
The Golden Tigers claimed wins over Bellefonte (24-35) and Clearfield (15-48), while the Lady Tigers had victories over Clearfield (15-50) and Bellefonte (16-47).

MARTINSBURG -- The Central boys and girls cross country teams both suffered two losses on the afternoon in defeats to Penns Valley and Bald Eagle Area.
The Dragons and Lady Dragons both fell to PV (15-50) and BEA (15-50) by the same scores.
Josh Walter's seventh place finish was the highest for the boys in 23:32, while Makayla Oliveri's sixth place was tops for the girls in 30:37.
