HOLLIDAYSBURG -- The Hollidaysburg girls tennis team improved to 11-0 Thursday, thanks to a 5-0 win over Tyrone and a 3-2 win over Abington Heights in a doubleheader in high school action.
Against Tyrone, Crosby Denis, Grace Muriceak and Katherine Wang picked up singles wins while the doubles teams of Selina Dong and Emmy Horrell, along with Ruby Biesinger and Crosby Beauchamp took home doubles wins.
Tyrone dropped to 6-4.
In the win over Heights, which lost for the first time this year (11-1), Denis and Muriceak won singles matches while the doubles team of Brooklyn Klingner and Olivia Panaro won their match.
Abbington is the defending District 2 Class 3A champion that ended Scranton Prep's 62-match league win streak last week.

Madison Dietz and Daisy Smith won singles matches in straight sets for the Lady Red Devils (9-3). Chloe Sandoval and Kat Kubat, and Hannah Hanlon and Madalyn Bobby won doubles matches without dropping a game.

Tigers lose by one
CLEARFIELD -- Richland (317) beat Hollidaysburg (318) by a stroke on Thursday afternoon in a 5-team golf match at the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club in high school action.
They were followed by Huntingdon (335), Clearfield (342) and Central (344) in the match.
Tyler Steiner led Hollidaysburg with a 77 for the round, while Mason Bender carded a 79.
Rory Martin paced Central with an 83 for the round.
Richland's Wes Dunlap was the medalist for the day with a 73 to lead the Rams.

Guilfoyle sweeps
Bishop Guilfoyle went 5-0 on the day in boys high school golf in wins over Westmont Hilltop, Bedford, Tyrone, Philipsburg-Osceola and Bald Eagle Area.
Grant Okonak led the Marauders with a medalist score of 66, while Ty Kelly was tops for Tyrone with an 89. Bedford's leader was Reid Kolander (77) while Pierce Poluck fired a 74 to lead Westmont. Nick DeSimone shot an 86 for P-O and Chase Kellander's 94 led BEA.
