Hollidaysburg, CC girls tennis keeps on winning

HUNTINGDON -- Hollidaysburg picked up a 5-0 shutout on the road at Huntingdon on Thursday afternoon in high school girls tennis play.

Olivia Panaro and Rina Stiffler picked up singles victories for the Lady Tigers, while Sandy Zheng won by forfeit.

The teams of Selina Dong and Katherine Wang, and Jillian Buffone and Avery Wagner, earned doubles victories for Hollidaysburg, which improved to 7-0 on the season.

SINGLES: 1. Panaro, HO, def. Boonie, HU, 6-0, 6-1; 2. Stiffler, HO, def. Stapleton, HU, 6-1, 6-4; 3. Zheng, HO, won by forfeit.

DOUBLES: 1. Dong/Wang, HO, def. Wiser/Weller, HU, 6-0; 6-0; 2. Buffone/Wagner, HO, def. Huang/Dolan, HU, 6-1, 6-0.

CC still perfect

EBENSBURG -- Central Cambria swept Clearfield, 5-0, in a home match with Clearfield at the Ebensburg Tennis Center.

Taryn Ream, Chloe Sandoval, and Hannah Hanlon all picked up singles victories for the Lady Devils. Madison Dietz and Daisy Smith, and Madalyn Bobby and Nora Anderson got doubles wins. All matches were played in one set to 10 games.

Lady Eagles soar

TYRONE -- Tyrone won four out of the five matches against Central in a 4-1 victory.

Jocelyn Diehl and Cassie Behrer won in singles for the Lady Eagles, while the doubles teams of Cassidy Fleck-Grace Zimmerman and Addison Davis-Sydney Beeman came out on top.

Breslyn Beech claimed the No. 1 singles for the Lady Dragons.

Lady Lions triumph

CHERRY TREE -- The Altoona Area High School girls golf team is 4-3 after its 149-155 win over Northern Cambria in high school play at the Chetremon Golf Course.

Vionna Jackson led the Lady Lions with a 44.

IMLER -- Bellwood-Antis shot a 174 to defeat Shanksville-Stoneycreek (182) and Claysburg-Kimmel (183) in boys high school golf at the King Valley Golf Course.

Dean Hoffner was the medalist for the match. The Shanksville golfer fired a 41.
