Four division golf titles won at SCC

EBENSBURG -- The Summit Country Club held its Ladies Memorial Golf Tournament where winners were crowned four different divisions.

Chrissy Sears won the Red Tee Division with an 89 (gross) while Therese Perino was second at 94. Nicole Mento won the low score with a 75, followed by Kelli Plunkett in second at 77.

Dorothy Cavalet won the Orange Tee Division (net) with an 83 while Bev Holtz won the gross score (102).

Huntingdon CC

HUNTINGDON -- The team of Bob Lamey and Gerry Huggler went 5-3 to take the week 8 title in the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club.

Two teams went 4-4: Phil Thompson-Larry Newton and Geoff Clarke-Ed Gargula. The Alan Herbster-Keith Black team went 3-5.

Clarke was the low gross winner (35) while Herbster was the low net winner (32). Herbster had the shot of the day, a 12-foot putt on No. 11 for birdie.

Sylvan Hills

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- There was a three-way tie for first place in the low gross division during the Sylvan Hills Thursday Golf League at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.

Using the alternate shot format between Donnie Fisher and Andy French, Pat Croft and Drew Nixon, along with Nick and Tim Matteson, they all finished with 41s in the low gross division. The low net of 34 was recorded by Derek Winterburn-Greg Shedd, Fisher-French and the Matteson's.

Croft and Drew Nixon wound up as league champions.

The B flight winners were Fisher and French, while Gary and Jerry Long won the C Flight. Matt Mathias and Chris Seymour took home the D Flight honor.

Closest to the pin winners were Nick Matteson and Kevin Fuller.
