KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The West Suburban 14U softball team moved to 2-1 in the Little League Junior World Series on Tuesday with a 12-1, five-inning victory over the Southwest representative, Shiner, Texas.
West Suburban secured a spot in Thursday's quarterfinals.
Olivia O'Roark led the way for West Suburban by giving up just two hits and allowing no runs in three innings in the circle while also collecting two hits and two RBIs.
Bryn Roberts also had two hits and two RBIs for West Suburban, Adalyn Hines and Kylie Sweeney each drove in a pair of runs, and Reese Pinizzotto and Jerzy Bopp each went 2-for-2.
West Suburban will close out pool play today against Bacolod City, Philippines, at 1:30.
