KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The Johnstown-based West Suburban 14U softball team wrapped up pool play with a 3-1 record after a 2-0 victory over Bacoclod City, Philippines, representing Asia-Pacific, in the Little League Junior Softball World Series on Wednesday.
West Suburban finished second in Pool B and will face Hudsonville, Michigan, the No. 3 team from Pool A, in the quarterfinals tonight at 7 p.m.
Cambria Heights student Reagan Bills gave up just three hits and no runs in four innings to earn the win, while Irelyn Scott followed with two scoreless innings, and Central Cambria student Kylie Ferguson threw one perfect inning.
Ferguson and Bryn Roberts drove in runs for West Suburban, which managed just four hits.
