KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The West Suburban 14U softball team reached the end of the road in the quarterfinals of the Little League Juniors World Series Thursday night.
West Suburban fell to Hudsonville, Mich., 2-1, and was eliminated from the tournament.

CM survives
Cumming Motors scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and edged Furrer Beverage, 9-8, in the Altoona Teener Minor double-elimination playoffs at Seitz Field on Friday.
Trailing 8-7, Dirk Pardee singled in Avery Sowers with one out in the seventh to tie the game. Then, with two outs, Jase Kosicki delivered a walk-off single to score Eli Brown with the winning run.
Cumming, which rallied from an 8-0 deficit after two innings, is 1-0 in the playoffs, and Furrer fell to 1-1.

J&P nips LR
J&P Auto Mart held off Locker Room, 8-7, in the Altoona Teener Minor double-elimination playoffs at Seitz Field on Friday.
J&P moved to 1-0, and Locker Room fell to 1-1.
Maverick Wentz drove in three runs for J&P, and Liam McDowell drove in two. Bentley Irvin delivered four hits and two RBIs for Locker Room, and Chase Giger had two hits.
