SIDMAN -- Hollidaysburg won the high school girls volleyball Forest Hills Kickoff Tournament on Saturday after going 8-0 in pool play and beating three teams in the playoffs to win the Gold Division title.
The Lady Tigers topped Richland, 25-15, 25-11, in the championship after topping Berlin Brothersvalley, 27-25, 25-16 in the semifinals and West Shamokin, 25-12, in the quarterfinals.
In pool play, Hollidaysburg beat Cambria Heights, 25-14, 25-21, North Star, 25-20, 25-19, Central Cambria, 25-21, 25-17, and West Shamokin, 25-20, 25-13.
Junior setter Delayni Baird had 107 assists for the tournament and added 29 digs, 15 kills and 12 aces for the Lady Tigers.
Central Cambria went 5-3 in pool play but lost its opener in the Gold Bracket playoffs. The junior varsity Central Cambria team went 5-5 at the Cove Clash junior varsity tournament.
Altoona wins
DuBOIS -- The Altoona boys soccer team bounced back from a season-opening loss to beat Warren, 5-2, in the second game of the Beaver Kickoff Classic on Saturday.
Abubaker Hussien scored two goals for the Mountain Lions.

MARTINSBURG -- Jacob Heuston gave Central a second-half lead against Cambria Heights, but Jack Illig tied the score to help the Highlanders earn a 2-2 draw Saturday in high school boys soccer.
Owen Brown scored the game's first goal for Central on an assist by Ben McIntier.

EBENSBURG -- Westmont Hilltop edged Central Cambria, 3-2, in the finals of the Central Cambria Invitational at the Ebensburg Tennis Center on Saturday in high school girls tennis.
Earlier in the day, the Lady Devils topped Bishop McCort, 5-0, to make the final, and Westmont Hilltop beat Windber, 4-1. McCort topped Windber, 4-1, in the consolation game.
Ireland DeBalli won both her matches at No. 2 singles for Central Cambria as did the team of Kat Kubat and Madalyn Bobby at No. 2 doubles.
