Rob Krimmel one of 12 set for HOF induction

STATE COLLEGE -- Former Saint Francis University men's basketball coach Rob Krimmel and area scholastic girls basketball coach Bethany Irwin are among the 12 inductees into this year's Centre County Sports Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame celebration will be held Sunday, Oct. 18 at The Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Krimmel was a standout basketball player at State College Area High School, while Irwin was a successful high school coach at Bellefonte Area, State College and Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy.

Philipsburg-Osceola will have two inductees in Gerald "Shorty'' "Nails'' Davis, a baseball and basketball coach, and Tim McCamley, wrestling athlete and coach.

Other State College inductees are Mike Fergus, athlete and coach; Dr. Alex J. Kenney, football and track and field athlete; and Tom Kleban, track and field athlete and coach.

The rest of the class includes Bald Eagle Area baseball coach Jim Gardner, Bellefonte baseball basketball and football athlete Chris Shivery, Penns Valley softball, soccer and basketball athlete Christie Wiest, Centre County region softball umpire William "Bill'' Keough and Centre County region community contributor Rob Irwin.
