The Penn State and Pitt football programs each had a player selected for the Butkus Award Watch List for the upcoming season on Thursday.
Penn State is represented by senior linebacker Kooper Ebel while Pitt's Braylan Lovelace made the list.
Ebel, a 6-foot-4, 233-pound senior, transferred in from Iowa State this season. He has played in 34 games in his career with 27 starts, where he had 77 tackles, 38 solo, last season and eight tackles for loss.
Lovelace started all 13 games for Pitt last season. He totaled 80 tackles, 5.5 for loss and two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown.
