CLAYSBURG -- Claysburg Legion Post 522 led by one until Philipsburg Phils Post 437 put up eight runs in a 10-4 loss that ended its season in the American Legion Region 7 action at Claysburg-Kimmel High School Tuesday.
Troy McNichol blasted a three-run homer in the top of the third to give Claysburg a 3-2 edge.
Following the big bottom of the sixth by Philipsburg, Dustin Slowik, who recorded three hits, including a double, singled home Jay Hoenstine in the top of the seventh to set the final score for Claysburg Legion.
Philipsburg Phils moves into the championship today at 12:40 p.m.. against the Latrobe Jethawks.

Sheetz triumphs
Down 5-4 in the bottom of the third, Sheetz exploded for seven runs in a 14-9 victory over Davison Snacks at Seitz Field.
Jerran Moyer went 4 for 4 with three doubles, three runs scored, and three runs driven in to lead Sheetz. Chance Butler added two doubles and also scored twice, while Shane Gority and Colin Ronan both recorded two hits and crossed the plate twice. Ronan smashed a home run.
Gage Boland and Ayden Knab both went 3 for 4 for Davison Snacks.

Boggs shines
Aden Boggs pitched a five-inning no-hitter with a dozen strikeouts in Cumming Motors' 12-0 win over KarPro at Seitz Field.
Zay Stotler knocked two doubles and drove in five runs to lead the Cumming Motors offense. Boggs tripled, while Eli Adams, Ben Farabaugh, and Kannan Shields all had two hits each.

Little League 10U
HERSHEY -- Hollidaysburg scored in the top of the fifth inning to knot the contest but two runs in the bottom of the inning by West Suburban spelled the end for Hollidaysburg in a 3-1 loss in the Pa. Little League 10U Section 4 tournament at Memorial Field.
Colton Barr doubled home Cameron Musselman with two outs in the fifth to account for the lone Hollidaysburg run.
Hollidaysburg had six hits on the game from six different players.
Hollidaysburg exits the tournament with a record of 1-2, while West Suburban advances to play East Pennsboro in the championship tonight at 6:30 p.m.
