TIPTON — The annual Old-Timers’ Baseball Club Picnic is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13 at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.

Former and current local baseball players, who may each bring a guest, are invited to the event, which costs $14 per person.

The picnic will be held at DelGrosso’s Pavilion No. 3 beginning at 3:30 p.m. with beverages (soda and water), followed by appetizers at 4 p.m., dinner (chicken barbecue, Murf’s Famous Potato Salad and more) at 5 p.m. and a raffle (tickets sold at picnic) at 6 p.m.

Attendees may bring their own canned beer/alcohol.

The deadline to RSVP is Friday, July 31.

Honors for Pitt

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt football team placed 10 student-athletes on the 2026 Athlon Sports Preseason All-ACC Team this week, highlighted by first-team linebacker Braylan Lovelace.

Lovelace, one of the nation’s premier linebackers entering the 2026 season, was named to the conference’s first-team defense.

The Panthers had four players earn second-team recognition. Running back Ja’Kyrian Turner and offensive tackle Ryan Baer represented Pitt on offense, while defensive lineman Sean FitzSimmons and defensive back Cruce Brookins were second-team defensive selections.

Offensive lineman BJ Williams earned Third-Team Offense honors, while defensive linemen Nick James and Jimmy Scott, along with defensive back Shawn Lee Jr., were named to the Third-Team Defense.

Wide receiver Cataurus Hicks rounded out Pitt’s selections as a Fourth-Team Offense honoree
