The Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association named its all-state team on Monday and two players each from Claysburg-Kimmel and Central Cambria landed on the first team.

Catcher Kathryn Scott and outfielder Camryn Matlin were picked as first-team PAHSSBCA all-state in Class 3A, and Central’s Kailyn Gahagan was a second-team selection as a utility player.

In Class 1A, Jaylee Swindell was picked as a first-team shortstop, and Isabella Paris made the first team as a utility player to represent Claysburg-Kimmel.

Reese Pinnizotto of Portage was recognized on the 1A second team as a utility player.

Bellwood-Antis had two second-team selections in Class 2A in first baseman London McKee and shortstop Parker Martin.

No players from the Mirror’s core coverage area made the all-state teams in Class 4A, 5A or 6A.

Baseball honors

The Pennsylvania Scholastic Baseball Coaches Association unveiled its 2026 all-state baseball teams on Friday.

Five players from the Mirror’s core coverage area made the first team and five more made the second team.

In Class 1A, Claysburg-Kimmel’s Mason Campagna (catcher) and Gavin Treon (outfielder) were named first-team all-state for the second year in a row. Juniata Valley’s Elijah Johns (infielder) joined them on the first team.

Johns’ teammate, Ethan Scalia, made the second team as an outfielder.

Hollidaysburg had two first-team selections in Class 5A with pitcher Vince Boland and outfielder Josh Banks making the squad. Mason Mierley made the second team for the Golden Tigers as an infielder.

In Class 3A, Tyrone’s Wyatt Kustenbauder (outfield) and Central’s Troy McNichol (catcher) made the second team, and in 2A, Bellwood-Antis catcher Cam Swogger landed on the second team.
