Shea, Weaver, Mitchell, Williams earn top honors
HOLLIDAYSBURG — The team of Tom Shea, Robin Weaver, George Mitchell and Kevin Williams won on a cardoff to capture top honors in the Butch Focht Senior Men’s Tournament at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.
They finished with a 34.
Placing second was the team of Terry Goldstein, Rodger Fair, Herb Bolger and Bill Blanset.
Third-place honors (35) were won by Joe DeGennaro, Dave Biseli, Steve Downing and David Johns.
In ladies action, the team of Cathy Beam, Carole Laich and Sandy Murphy finished at 95 to win the Ball in a Bag Tournament.
Finishing second at 97 was the team of Kim Straesser, Lynn Durbin and Karen Dietze. One stroke back at 98 was the team of Dayonne Beck, Linda Derman and Sue Green.
Nick Matteson and Roger Elensky were the big winners during Thursday Night Golf League action at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.
Matteson was the low gross winner (40) while Elensky was the low net winner (31). Matteson also had an eagle on the 367-yard hole. He is currently a league leader along with Luke Grove.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Dave Davis (2) and Gerry Rubritz (4). Individual hole winners were Jim Seiler (1), Jeff Gourley (6) and Matteson (7).
Holes-in-one
TYRONE — John Nardozza aced No. 16 from the gold tees at Sinking Valley Country Club.
He was playing with Tony Roscia and Jeff Lego.
Summit
CRESSON — Steve Pramuk, from Hollidaysburg, had a hole in one on the par 3, eighth hole at Summit Country Club.
Pramuk used his 8-iron to make the 136-yard ace. It was Pramuk’s fourth career hole in one at Summit.
The shot was witnessed by Vaughn Lewis, Colin Snyder and Todd Ritchey.
Double eagle
SALIX — William Schrimpf made a double eagle at Windber Country Club during the RVW Open. He holed out his second shot on the 406-yard par 5 eighth hole with a 6-hybrid.
The shot was witnessed by John Marron, Frank Petrusic and Dr. David Bencie.
