Summit crowns champions in Senior Invitational

CRESSON — Randy Jarratt and Wally Clapper won the 50-59 age gross division with a 138, and Ron Kenner and Bill Allen won the net division with a 131 at the Summit Country Club’s Senior Invitational.

Shaun Lepore and Jason Steinbugl were second in the gross, and Ron Shuty and Larry Benton were second in the net.

In the 60-69 age group, John Dziabo and Tony Mignogna shot a 140 to win the gross division by one stroke over Ed Smith and Ken Love, and Terry Funcheon and Pummy Pirozzola took the net with a 129 ahead of Jim Smith and Dale Perino and Greg Simpson and Bob Ruggiero, who both shot 133.

Rick Holtz and Warren Rhyner won the 70-and-over gross division with a 138. Ed Dongell and Brady Eckenrode and Don FIlby and Mike Maier tied for first in the net division with a 133.

Steve Dupirack, Rick Holtz, Dziabo, Funcheon, Ruggiero and Steinbugl won skill prizes.

Iron Masters

ORE HILL — Steve Beach, Charlie Ball, Stan Snyder and Joe Burke took first place in the “A” Player Draft event at Iron Masters Country Club by shooting a 120.

One shot back were the runners-up — Eric Glunt, Jeramie Yeoman, Mike Emerick and Clay Cameron.

Sylvan Hills

HOLLIDAYSBURG — In Thursday night Sylvan Hills Golf Course league action, Pat Croft and Drew Nixon finished with the low score of 41 in an alternate-shot format.

Three teams — Cliff Lawson/Tim Williams, Matt Mathais/Mike Matosziuk and Ryan Craig/Andy Spencer shot a low net of 34.

Skill prize winners included Nixon and Rodger Fair.

Croft and Nixon continue to remain the league leaders.
