Foursome wins Summit tournament

CRESSON — The team of Shawn Smay, Jim Singer, Frank Hribar and Ryan Richardson won the Summit Country Club’s 11th annual Sons of the American Legion District 20 Veterans Benefit Outing four-player scramble with a score of 60 last Saturday.
Joe Gribbin, Joe Myers, Tony Stombaugh and Aaron Offman were second with a 61, and Tom Squashic, Paul David Myers, Matt Henry and Kory O’Donnell were third with a 61.
Sylvan Hills
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Gary Long and Jerry Long are the leaders in the Sylvan Hills Thursday Evening Golf League after Week 2.
Low gross and net scorer was Nick Matteson with 35/33. Closest to the pin were Mark Emery on hole No. 2 and Ryan Craig on hole No. 4. Individual hole winners were Jerry Long on hole No. 2 and Gary Long on hole No. 6.
In other action at Sylvan Hills, the team of Lou Ann Donlan, Connie Angeski and Sue Welsh won on a cardoff with a 23 at the Three Little Pigs Tournament. Placing second was the team of Brenda Flick, Sandy Vaughn and Nancy Vaughn. Placing third at 24 was the team of Cathy Beam, Yvonne Gentry and Pam Ergler.
In Butch Focht Senior Men’s Tournament action, the winner of the Four-on-Four division was the team of Jim Burket, Dan Hegarty, Lynn Grove and David Johns (34). The winner of the Three-on-Three division was the team of Tom Shea, Andy Unger and George Mitchell (36).
Park Hills
The team of Scott Burgmeier, Tim Litz and Damon Rickets shot a 129, 11-under par, to win the 3-man scramble tournament held at the Park Hills Country Club.
Finishing second was the team of Tony Acrie, Dan Green Sr. and Tom Hammond, who finished at 130.
