Bliss

A one-day javelin clinic led by Bucknell University standout and Team USA athlete Evelyn Bliss will be held on Friday, June 19, at Mansion Park.

The clinic is open to athletes of all skill levels in grades 7 and up.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m., followed by instruction, drills and event-specific coaching throughout the day. A competition will conclude the clinic beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Lunch will be catered for participants. Athletes are required to bring their own javelin.

The cost is $50 for the clinic only. Athletes can add to their experiences by purchasing a throw video analysis, a lifts, drills and mobility pack or a VIP pack.

Bliss, a junior biology major at Bucknell, is a two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Patriot League champion, 2025 U.S. Women’s Javelin national champion and gold medalist at the 2025 NACAC Senior Championships. Bliss has represented Team USA four times, most recently at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

She currently ranks No. 1 in the NCAA, No. 4 in the world and No. 7 in U.S. history in the women’s javelin with a personal best throw of 61.34 meters (201 feet, 3 inches).

Frosh arrives

UNIVERSITY PARK – Penn State men’s basketball coach Mike Rhoades announced the signing of forward Aleksandar Zecevic for the upcoming season. Zecevic, a native of Serbia, comes to Penn State as a freshman.

A 6-foot-9 forward, Zecevic played in Spain last season in the Sume Bilbao Basket League where he averaged 10.8 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 62 percent from the field.

He had 10 double-digit games for his U22 team in 22 games. He spent the 2024-2025 season with the Serbian U19 team.

Pitt gets transfer

PITTSBURGH — Kraig Gilbert, a 6-foot-8 junior forward from Grove City, Ohio, will transfer from Concord University (W.Va.) to Pitt for the 2026-27 season.

Last season, Gilbert appeared in 14 games for Concord after his season was cut short by an ankle injury, averaging 16.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 55 percent from the field.

Concord is a Division II program.
