Wuckovich awarded AAHS Cohen Blanket

Altoona Area High School senior football player Logan Wuckovich was named the 2025 Joseph F. Cohen Blanket award winner on Wednesday.

The Altoona Blanket Award is awarded to the most valuable senior football player. The Joseph F. Cohen Blanket Award was created in 1926 by Joseph F. Cohen of The Young Men’s Shop.

Also on Wednesday, 16 Altoona Area High School student athletes announced their selection and intent to continue their athletic pursuits at the post-secondary level.

Those signing included Leim King-Settles, Penn State Altoona tennis; Maraya Bittner, Penn Highlands volleyball; Phillip Sarbo, Pitt-Johnstown wrestling; Tykear Davis, Penn Highlands wrestling; Jace Black, Bloomsburg soccer; Kaya Sprankle, Shenandoah softball; Charli Schneider, Juniata softball; Kihlee Noel, Shippensburg track and field; Gabrielle “Ellie” Filer, Saint Francis golf; Kenzie Wilt, Saint Francis cheer; Serenity Hogans, Lock Haven cheer; Dante LaRocco, California, Pa. baseball; Nick Kraft, Juniata baseball; Collin Etters, Penn State Altoona, soccer; and Aubriana Berardinelli, Penn State Altoona, soccer.

Hollidaysburg signees

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Hollidaysburg Area School District had several student athletes sign to play sports in college on Monday.

Signees included Donald Miller, Allegheny baseball; Kayden McCrystal, Mansfield football; and Carter McCrystal, Mansfield track and field.
