Bishop Guilfoyle volleyball team tops Forest Hills on senior night

The Bishop Guilfoyle Academy high school boys volleyball team edged Forest Hills, 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 18-25, 15-10, on senior night Monday at the Pleasant Valley Gym.

Brenden Young had 36 assists, 18 digs and nine kills and went over 500 career assists. Karter Shall had 16 kills and 17 digs, Griffin Chwatek had 12 kills and 13 digs, and Jacob Mellot had 18 digs.

WH teams advance

Two Westmont Hilltop teams will compete in the District 6 Class 2A boys doubles tennis championship on Wednesday.

John Allen and Brett Hoffman, the top seeds, and unseeded Conner Selders and Ethan Downey both won two matches on Monday at Mansion Park to advance to the finals.
