Guilfoyle graduate going into SFU Hall

College digest

LORETTO — Saint Francis University announced on Friday the names for the 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame class and it features a notable Bishop Guilfoyle High School graduate in Alli Williams.

Williams is one of 14 inductees that were named, plus there were two sports teams.

A standout women’s basketball player, Williams graduated in 2014 as the second leading scorer in program history, and the third ever to reach the 2,000-point marker. She now sits in third place in career points and is one of only four players to that 2,000 mark.

Williams, who finished with 2,178 points, is also the program’s career leader in three throws attempted, second in steals and free throws made, third in rebounding, fourth in field goals and field goals attempted. She scored 40 points three times, and is the only player in SFU history to record two games with nine or more steals.

During her time in Loretto, the Red Flash went 69-49 and 46-26 in the Northeast Conference.

Nikki Shrift, a Bishop Carroll graduate, is going in as a member of the 2003-2004 women’s basketball team that will be honored. That season, the Lady Red Flash went 25-6 and became only the second of five teams to ever go 18-0 in the NEC. They were ranked 13th in NCAA Division I in scoring at 74.1 points-per game. Beth Swink and Tonjee Ward were the top two offensive performers on that team.

The official class includes Anna Hoffman Balouris (track, cross country), Bill Coyle basketball, Kevin Doyle (track, cross country), Kyle Harbridge (football), Matt Hartman (track, cross country), Elise Lofgren (swimming), Darshan Luckey (basketball), Tesa McKibben (soccer), Joe Schoen (basketball), Jordan Varee (volleyball), Pat Gallagher (swim coach) and the 1969-1971 club football team.

The induction ceremony will be held on Friday, July 24. This will be the 13th induction since the Hall was created in 1996. The 14-member class is also the most since its inception and brings the total number of inductees to 93 members and seven teams totaling 100 people.
