JOHNSTOWN — Altoona’s Parker Mirobelli is a member of the Delmont-based Allegheny Badgers 16U team that won the Mid-Am District Tier II state hockey tournament this past weekend.

Mirobelli, a sophomore player for the Altoona varsity team, will be traveling with his team to Irvine, Calif., to participate in the USA Hockey 16U Tier II National Tournament from March 25-29.

Lincoln Speedway opens

ABBOTTSTOWN — Lincoln Speedway held its first race of the season this past weekend, and the 30-lap, $6,000-to-win sprint car main event had Chase Dietz winning, holding off Danny Dietrich. This Saturday, the 410 sprints will be in action.
