HAMBURG, N.Y. — The Penn State Altoona men’s basketball team was outscored 55-41 in the second half Tuesday night en route to a 92-77 loss to Hilbert College in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs.

Penn State’s season ended with a 12-14 record.

Braelen Cage and Nehemiah Frye each scored 20 points for Penn State, which trailed by only one at halftime, 37-36. Rasheed Daniels added 17 points while Kaden Claar chipped in with 11 points.

Ari Jones’ 28 points were tops for Hilbert (16-10), which also got 21 points from Jayden Montgomery and 20 points from Larry Morse.

ALFRED, N.Y. — The Mount Aloysius women’s basketball team saw their season come to a close on Tuesday night, losing 62-54 to Alfred State in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs.

The Mounties (10-16), who trailed 20-13 after one quarter, got 20 points from Molly Kosmack to go with 10 points and 12 rebounds from Mackenzie Barr.

Alfred State (16-10), up 38-30 at halftime, was led by Jordan Niles with 16 points and 15 more from Emeline Barton.
