Guilfoyle grad working on Giants’ football staff

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Ron Shrift, a 2007 Bishop Guilfoyle High School graduate, will be continuing his NFL coaching career with the New York Giants.
Shrift was officially named the Giants’ director of strength and conditioning on Friday as he made the move to New York with head coach John Harbaugh from the Baltimore Ravens.
Shrift worked the last nine seasons with Harbaugh and the Ravens, serving as the team’s strength and conditioning coach. He led sports science initiatives, speed development, strength training programs and recovery strategies, working under coordinator Scott Elliott.
Shrift was a lineman at BG and continued his playing career at Juniata College, where he captained the team and earned strength and conditioning All-American honors.
Shrift holds a bachelor’s degree from Juniata, along with master’s degrees in recreation and sport management from Florida International University and in exercise science, performance enhancement and injury prevention from California University of Pennsylvania.
He also had an internship at Penn State and a stint as an assistant strength coach at North Carolina A&T. He further built his resume at Power Train Sports in Pennsylvania.
