College volleyball

LORETTO — The Saint Francis men’s volleyball team will host the University of Hawaii for the first time in program history on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the DeGol Arena.

The Rainbow Warriors advanced to the NCAA demifinals last year. They won the NCAA championship in 2021 and 2022, and were the national runner-up in 2019 and 2023.

Hawaii comes to Pennsylvania for the first time in the regular season and the first time since the Rainbow Warriors played Penn State in the NCAA Championships in 2002.

Hawaii has been on the East Coast three times in the regular season, traveling to North Carolina in 2019, 2023, and 2025 before its trip in 2026 to the Keystone State. After the match with the Red Flash, the Rainbow Warriors will play at Penn State this Friday and Saturday.

It will be the fourth time the Red Flash will face the Rainbow Warriors after meeting Hawaii for the first time at Queens University in Charlotte in 2019. They faced Hawaii again for two matches in 2023 in Hawaii. The Rainbow Warriors have won all three meetings.

Hawaii was ranked third in the AVCA poll last week. The Red Flash will be hosting a Top-10 opponent for the first time since Penn State came to town as the 10th-ranked team in the country in 2024. The Red Flash will be looking for its first win against a Top-10 opponent at DeGol Arena since defeating No. 7 Stanford 3-2 in 2020.

DeGol Arena will also host Penn State Altoona vs. Saint Vincent in a match starting at 4 p.m. prior to the Red Flash match.

Starting at $2.99/week.
