UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State football program announced the addition of Savon Huggins to its on-field coaching staff for the 2026 season on Tuesday.
Huggins will serve as the running backs coach.
Huggins comes to PSU following a four-year stint as running backs coach at Boston College.
Jordan McDonald added 53 carries for 361 yards and three touchdowns, while true freshman Turbo Richard ran for 278 yards on 55 carries with two touchdowns.
Robichaux ran for 198 yards and two TDs in the win over Syracuse, while McDonald had 133 yards with a score for BC against the Orange.
Pitt adds coach
PITTSBURGH — Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi made the addition of Mike Priefer to his coaching staff official on Tuesday. Priefer joins Pitt as the program’s special teams coordinator.
Priefer comes to Pitt after serving as special teams coordinator at North Carolina during the 2025 season.
A veteran of more than 30 years in coaching, Priefer spent 17 seasons as an NFL special teams coordinator with the Chiefs, Broncos, Vikings and Browns.

n Penn State women’s volleyball standout Kennedy Martin was named a CSC first-team Academic All-American on Tuesday. The junior earned the honor for a second-consecutive season. Martin excelled in the classroom as a labor and human resources major, joining just six other players on the first team. She is one of just two players from the Big Ten to make the first team. Martin is now a two-time first-team Academic All-American.
n Penn State Altoona senior forward Avana Sayles was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Athlete of the Week in women’s basketball.
n Penn State sophomore forward Nicole Hall was named to Sweden’s Olympic women’s ice hockey roster ahead of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.
n Penn State men’s basketball associate head coach Jamal Brunt was named a Top 100 Most Impactful High Major Assistant, as announced by Silver Waves Media Monday morning. Brunt is in his third season as Penn State’s associate head coach in 2025-26.
n Pitt basketball associate head coach Tim O’Toole was recognized on the seventh annual Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful High Major Assistant Coaches List, as announced Monday. The list highlights 100 high major assistant coaches who make an impact on their programs. O’Toole is in his eighth season at Pitt, serving on head coach Jeff Capel’s staff.
