Embiid returns to 76ers lineup
PHILADELPHIA — Joel Embiid returned to the Philadelphia 76ers lineup on Sunday against Atlanta after missing nine games due to a sore right knee.
Embiid had played in only six of 20 games, averaging 19.7 points and 5.5 rebounds. The 76ers upgraded Embiid to questionable on Sunday afternoon, and he was cleared to play after his pregame workout.
Embiid last played in the 76ers’ win over Toronto on Nov. 8. The 2023 NBA MVP, Embiid’s right knee soreness kept him from playing until Sunday. He scored 18 points in 30 minutes of action in a double-overtime loss to the Hawks.
