25 years ago: Nov. 7, 2000 — Former Altoona Curve pitching coach, Bruce Tanner, 38, was hired as the new bullpen coach by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

10 years ago: Nov. 7, 2015 — In high school football, Bishop Guilfoyle beat Somerset, 31-14, at Mansion Park to finish the season at 10-0. Evan Chadbourn added three more touchdowns to give him a season total of 26.
