Red Flash falter

EASTON -- The Saint Francis men's basketball team lost 77-60 Tuesday night at Lehigh in non-conference action on Tuesday.

Skylar Wicks paced the Red Flash with his second-straight double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Teammates Ahmad Harrison and Zion Russell added 11 points.

With the score tied at 14, the Mountain Hawks took a lead they did not relinquish at the 12:13 mark, but it was a 12-3 run in the final 4:22 of the first half that gave Lehigh a 43-32 lead at the break.

Saint Francis scored six of the first 10 points of the game to take a 6-4 edge. Zion Russell tied the game at 2-2, and Wicks knotted the game at 4-all before Cam Tweedy gave the Red Flash a two-point edge with 15:17 on the clock.

The Red Flash had an 8-2 run in the second half with Wicks and Tweedy both registering three points and Brandon Russell adding a basket in the paint.

Wicks nearly registered a double-double in the first half, finishing with 17 points and eight rebounds in the first 20 minutes, and finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The redshirt senior has registered double figures in all four games this season, with each game of at least 15 points.

Wicks, who recorded back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in his career, became the first player since Josh Cohen to have a double-double with at least 20 points after Cohen posted 25 points and 12 rebounds in March of 2023.

Wicks is also the first player to have consecutive double-doubles since Miles Webb against Penn State Shenango in December of 2024. Webb finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds in both games.

Harrison registered his first 10-plus point game for the Red Flash, with six of the points coming in the final three minutes. It is the 20th time in his collegiate career that he has reached double figures.

Zion Russell notched his double figures for the third time in four games in a Red Flash uniform.

Saint Francis returns to action at the Coconut Hoops event next Monday in Fort Myers, Fla., against Belmont. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
