Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi

On Notre Dame’s running backs: “They got Heisman Trophy candidates. Love is obviously special, and then when he goes out, the Price kid comes in and he’ll run it down your throat as well. They’re a two-headed monster.”

On your team being ready for a national TV audience on ABC and ESPN: “You could play this game at 7 a.m. over at the Fieldhouse on campus. You could play it at Carnegie-Mellon or in the parking lot or in our indoor facility … it doesn’t matter what time. Our guys are coming to play, period. All the hoopla, the GameDay, all that stuff, it’s great for the university, but once that kickoff starts … you guys can get all excited, but we’re going to play our game.”

On how the true freshman Heintschel will handle the spotlight: “We’re confident. He’s been our guy for the last five weeks. We have a lot of faith in him. We just have got to make sure he doesn’t go out there and try to be ‘the guy.’ Just let the players around you make plays. Don’t try to make them all by yourself.”
