50 years ago — Oct. 20, 1975: Bishop Guilfoyle fell to Hollidaysburg, 23-0, in the mud in football action before 7,000-plus fans at Mansion Park. Three Golden Tiger players scored TDs with Gordy Gahagan running one in from 38 yards.
25 years ago — Oct. 20, 2000: In junior high football, Bellwood-Antis and Tyrone played to a 6-6 tie, with Ben Gummo scoring for Tyrone, Dan Houser for B-A: Keith fell to State College, 19-14, Justin Angermeier rushing for 92 yards and a TD for Keith; and Roosevelt blanked Lewistown 28-0, with Chuck Koch scoring three TDs.
10 years ago — Oct. 20, 2015: Like its varsity team, the Bishop Guilfoyle JV football team remained undefeated at 7-0 with a 31-12 win over Cambria Heights. Nathan Callahan had a 65-yard touchdown run for BG.
