Central Cambria girls tennis will compete for district title

EBENSBURG — The Central Cambria girls tennis team will play for the District 6 Class 2A championship today, thanks to a 5-0 win over Tyrone in high school semifinal action on Wednesday.
The Lady Red Devils, the No. 1 seed with a 14-4 mark, will play Westmont Hilltop at the Ebensburg Tennis Center at 3:30 p.m.
Central Cambria got singles wins from Lydia Paskowski, Taryn Ream and Madison Dietz. Doubles victories were earned by the team of Kat Kubat-Ireland DeBalli and Chloe Sandoval-Daisy Smith.
Tyrone (8-8) came in as the No. 4 seed.

Bulldogs triumph
CLAYSBURG — The Claysburg-Kimmel girls volleyball team improved to 9-8 Wednesday night, thanks to a 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 win over Northern Bedford in high school action.
Kaitlyn Mortimore had 11 service points and 13 digs to go with 15 assists from Payton Hinish and 10 kills from Lauren Roxby.
The Lady Panthers (4-14) got 10 assists from Callie Miller and 11 digs from Ava Sipes.
