Central Cambria cross country teams unbeaten
High school cross country
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Paige Alexander, Delaney Snyder, Alaina Long and Alyson Sheehan took the first four places in leading the Central Cambria girls to victories over Hollidaysburg, 19-38, Bishop Carroll, 15-50, Bishop McCort, 15-50, and Philipsburg-Osceola, 15-50, in high school cross country action on Wednesday.
The Hollidaysburg girls, with Addison Smith placing fifth, beat BC, 15-50, and P-O, 15-50.
Ethan Haycisak set a new Hollidaysburg course record with a time of 16 minutes, 6 seconds in winning the boys race for Central Cambria, which beat Hollidaysburg, 27-31, and P-O, 15-50, BC, 18-45, and McCort, 15-50.
Dean Sunderland (16:17) and Reuben Manfred (16:25) also had times that were better than the previous course record in helping the Hollidaysburg boys defeat BC, 17-46, and P-O, 15-50. The BC boys topped P-O, 18-41.
Both CC teams finished the LHAC dual meet season unbeaten.

Berkhimer cruises
CRESSON — Central senior Lanee Berkhimer completed the girls race in 17:54 and placed first in a meet with Somerset, Bellefonte and Penn Cambria.
The PC girls fell to Somerset, 17-45, and Bellefonte, 27-37, but topped Central, 30-37. The PC boys nipped Central, 32-33, but came up short to Somerset, 25-30, and Bellefonte, 21-32.

Tyrone boys go 2-1
NEW PARIS — The Tyrone boys defeated Chestnut Ridge, 22-33, and Bedford, 15-50, but fell to Penns Valley, 24-30.
Ridge’s Grady McDonald won the boys race in 17:38 with Bedford’s Payton Fyfe fourth and Tyrone’s Alex Brumbaugh fifth.
The Tyrone girls, with Sophia Witkamp placing sixth, edged Ridge, 28-29, but fell to Bedford, 19-42, and Penns Valley, 25-30. Bedford’s Chloe May won the girls race in 19:47.

Dixon wins race
HOUTZDALE — Williamsburg’s Ava Dixon won the girls race in 20:45 in a six-team meet at Moshannon Valley.
Williamsburg’s Emma Biddle was third, and Northern Bedford’s Lily Miller and Carson Miller finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
The NBC girls beat Mo Valley, 9-12, but fell to Williamsburg, 21-24, Juniata Valley, 25-26, and West Branch, 10-11.
The NBC boys, with Matt Hess placing fourth, beat JV, 9-12, and West Branch, 7-14, but lost to Mo Valley, 16-20, and Williamsburg, 8-13.
Williamsburg’s Tanner Ross and Ryland Corl finished second and third, respectively.

BELLWOOD — The Bellwood-Antis boys defeated Portage, 23-36, but lost to Forest Hills, 24-31, and the Bellwood girls topped Portage, 26-30, and lost to Forest Hills, 25-30.
The Portage boys also fell to Richland, 23-36, and FH, 22-35, and the Portage girls came up short to Forest Hills, 18-37, and Richland, 18-45. The Richland boys nipped FH, 27-28, and the Richland girls also beat FH, 24-31.
In the boys race, Bellwood’s Bryce Hollenbach was fourth, and Portage’s Logan Gentile was sixth, and in the girls race, Bellwood’s Blake Pennington was third, and Portage’s Josephine White was fifth.
