Central Cambria AD Randy Wilson selected PIAA boys cross country coach of the year

The PIAA announced its 25 coaches who were selected as the organization's coaches of the year for the 2024-2025 school year, and Central Cambria's Randy Wilson was selected as the PIAA boys cross country coach of the year.
"This is truly an honor to receive this recognition, but it is a total Central Cambria School District team effort from the admin, to the board, our nurses and trainer, our bus drivers and of course none this is possible without my assistant coaches, athletes and their parents and guardians," Wilson said. "The cross country coaches around the state are an amazing group of individuals; their passion fuels me to be the best I can, so obviously a piece of this is theirs as well."
The PIAA has recognized more than 190 coaches through the National Federation of State High School Associations Coach of the Year program.
"Education-based athletics is a vital part of the high school experience, and it thrives because of
the passion and commitment of our member school coaches," PIAA Executive Director Robert Lombardi said. "Their dedication leaves a lasting impact on the lives of student-athletes every day. On behalf of the PIAA Board of Directors, PIAA member schools, and all registered officials, we proudly congratulate these individuals on being named the 2024-2025 PIAA/NFHS Coaches of the Year."
Westmont Hilltop boys golf coach Robert Patula and Southern Fulton baseball coach Kent Hendershot were also among the coaches honored.
