ALEXANDRIA -- The Juniata Valley girls volleyball team improved to 10-8 Wednesday night, thanks to a 20-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-12 win over Central in high school play.
Braelyn Hall had 16 digs for the Lady Hornets, who also got 13 service points from Shawnee Bishop, 21 assists from Madyson Burdge and 11 kills from Addie Best.
Central fell to 3-13.

Altoona girls beat MC
LEWISTOWN -- The Altoona girls soccer team improved to 13-2-2 Wednesday night, thanks to a 3-0 win over Mifflin County in high school action.
The Lady Lions got two goals from Ajaycia Alexander and one from Sophie O'Dea. Ava Frye added two assists and Haylee Rodriguez got her ninth shutout of the season.
Mifflin County, down 1-0 at halftime, fell to 5-13.
Altoona also won the JV game, 7-0.
BOYS SOCCER
CC beats rival
CRESSON - Jon Rivera scored the only goal of the game for Central Cambria in a 1-0 win over rival Penn Cambria in boys high school soccer action.
Jacob Fisher got the shutout in goal -- his third of the season -- for the Red Devils.
