The latest line: Pitt is a 5.5-point favorite according to oddsmakers.

Game notes: Pitt linebacker leads the ACC in tackles with 10.5 per game. He finished with 12 against Louisville, a game that Pitt led 17-0 in the first half at one point. … Boston College’s only victory is over FCS Fordham. The Eagles have lost to Michigan State, California and Stanford under head coach Bill O’Brien. … Pitt’s offense is averaging 403 yards per game while BC is up to 444 yards per game. The BC defense is giving up 330 yards per game and 27.5 points-per game. Pitt’s defense is giving up 313 yards-per game and 22.8 points-per game. … BC’s quarterback is Dylan Lonergan, who had nine touchdown passes against three interceptions. His completion percentage is 69.4 percent. He is also the son of former Penn State quarterback Dan Lonergan. Their top rusher is Turbo Richard (329 yards on 58 carries and four touchdowns. The top receiver is Lewis Bond with 352 yards on 36 catches but no scores. …According to published reports, Pitt’s Desmond Reid is supposed to play this weekend after missing all of the Louisville game. He was hurt in the loss to West Virginia two weeks ago. … Pitt quarterback Eli Holstein and Lonergan were both at Alabama their freshman season when O’Brien was the Tide’s OC. … The Pitt program will honor former Panther legend Antonio Bryant on Saturday. A three-year letterwinner from 1999-2001 as a wide receiver, Bryant played eight seasons in the NFL with Dallas, Cleveland, San Francisco and Tampa Bay.
