Carroll-McCort co-op ending
JOHNSTOWN — Bishop Carroll Catholic High School has informed Bishop McCort Catholic High School that it has voted to dissolve the McCort-Carroll football co-op following the conclusion of the 2025 season.
According to the Bishop Carroll Board of Trustees, the decision was based primarily on the school’s proximity to Bishop McCort and Point Stadium, which they stated has limited participation by Bishop Carroll students in the football program. The Board also cited the recent PIAA ruling allowing private school students to participate in athletics in their home school district when their private school does not offer that sport.
In addition, the co-op agreement for wrestling and cheerleading will also cease at the conclusion of the 2025 season. The Bishop Carroll Board has confirmed that the Carroll-McCort soccer co-op will remain in place for the 2026 season.
