Hollidaysburg cross country defeats Tyrone, Central
Cross country
MARTINSBURG — The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys and girls cross country team defeated both Tyrone and host Central on Wednesday.
The boys, with Dean Sunderland winning in 17 minutes, 32 seconds, defeated Tyrone, 17-44, and Central, 15-50, while the Tyrone boys topped Central, 15-50.
The Lady Tigers beat Central, 15-50, and Tyrone, 17-44, while the Tyrone girls topped Central, 15-50. Central’s Lanee Berkhimer won the girls race in 19:18.

Noce leads Altoona
Backed by Ashlyn Noce’s first-place finish, the Altoona girls defeated Latrobe, 27-38, at the Logan Elementary School course.
Noce finished with a time of 19 minutes, 27 seconds.
The Altoona boys defeated Gateway, 15-50, and Latrobe, 26-31, with Seth Lieb finishing second in 18:32 to Latrobe’s Charlie Heese (18:11).

FISHERTOWN — The Central Cambria boys beat Chestnut Ridge, 18-45, Penn Cambria, 15-50, and Windber, 15-50, while the CC girls topped Ridge, 15-50, PC, 15-50, and Windber, 16-44.

CLEARFIELD — Martin Fatzinger’s first-place finish helped the Bellwood-Antis boys defeat Bald Eagle Area, 23-38, and Clearfield, 23-34. The Clearfield boys won over BEA, 24-34.
Blake Pennington of Bellwood won the girls race, helping the Lady Devils defeat BEA, 22-39. The Clearfield girls topped Bellwood, 23-34, and BEA, 20-41.

Knobloch wins race
BEDFORD — Bishop Carroll’s Noah Knobloch won the boys race in a meet with Bedford, Somerset, Bishop McCort and North Star.
Knobloch finished in 19:02. The Somerset boys edged Bedford, 27-30, and beat North Star, 21-37.
Somerset’s Emily Fisher won the girls race in 19:10. The Bedford girls beat Somerset, 21-36, McCort, 15-50, and North Star, 15-50, while the Somerset girls topped North Star and McCort by 15-50 scores.

Portage boys split
MARION CENTER — The Portage boys split with West Shamokin and Marion Center, beating the Wolves 25-30 while losing to the Stingers, 20-39. On the girls side, Portage lost to both West Shamokin (19-36) and Marion Center (17-45).
Nolan Westover was tops for the Portage boys (third, 19:36.3). For the girls, Josephine White was sixth (24:01.5).
