MARTINSBURG -- Lanee Berkhimer broke Central's girls course record with a time of 18:44 in a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference high school cross country meet on Wednesday.
Bellwood-Antis, behind a second-place finish by Blake Pennington in 21:43, defeated Central, 15-50. Bishop McCort topped the Lady Dragons, 17-19, Central beat Bishop Carroll, 10-11, Westmont Hilltop beat Central, 15-50, Bellwood edged Westmont, 25-32, and Westmont and Bellwood both beat Carroll, 15-50.
On the boys side, Bishop Carroll's Noah Knobloch won with a time of 18:06, and Bryce Hollenbach of Bellwood-Antis was second in 18:49.
Bellwood beat Central, 15-50, lost to Carroll, 24-33 and beat Westmont and McCort, 15-50. Central lost to McCort, 17-19, and Bishop Carroll, 15-50. The Dragons beat Westmont, 16-20, and Carroll beat Westmont and McCort, 15-50.

Altoona falls
Kiski topped Altoona in both boys and girls cross country at Logan Elementary School, 25-32, in boys and 27-30 in girls.
Ashlyn Noce won the girls race for the Lady Lions with a time of 19:24.
Seth Lieb was the runner-up in the boys race for Altoona, finishing in 17:54.
Despite both teams falling short, the teams raised awareness with a Blackout Cancer before the start to honor former Altoona runner Jenny (Gibbons) Harkins, mother of junior cross country runner Abbie Harkins. Jenny is battling her third cancer with support facilitated through the nonprofit Help Hope Live.
Leo Ingham won the boys middle school race for Altoona in 9:02.

Tigers both take two
WINGATE -- Sam Chestney won the boys race in 18:31 for Hollidaysburg, which beat Bald Eagle Area, 18-45 and Richland, 21-36. Dean Sunderland was second in 18:38 for the Tigers.
On the girls side, Bedford's Chloe May won in 19:49, and Hollidaysburg's Adalai Carney was third in 22:29. Hollidaysburg topped BEA, 16-46, and Richland, 20-41.
Hollidaysburg's Mason Kephart won the boys middle school race in 8:56.

LILLY -- Ethan Haycisak and Paige Alexander each won their respective races for Central Cambria as the Red Devils boys and girls went undefeated in a meet at Lilly Park.
Haycisak won in 16:22 and led Central Cambria to wins over Bellefonte, 20-41, Chestnut Ridge, 18-45, and Ferndale, 15-50.
Alexander won in 20:26 and helped the Lady Devils beat Bellefonte, 15-49, Chestnut Ridge, 15-50, and Ferndale, 15-50.

SOMERSET -- Forest Hills topped Tyrone, 20-37 in boys competition, and 20-38 in girls action. Clearfield beat Tyrone's boys, 24-34, and the girls, 19-40.
Tyrone's Brenson Davis finished sixth in 18:58 during the boys race, and Ella Savino was sixth for the Eagles in the girls race in 22:29.

PATTON -- Cambria Heights beat Portage, 22-37, and lost to United, 22-33, and United beat Portage, 20-39, in boys action. Portage defeated the Lady Highlanders, 28-30. United beat both Portage, 17-46, and Cambria Heights, 17-30.
Mason Kline of Cambria Heights was the runner-up with a time of 20:34, and Portage's Logan Gentile was fourth in 20:58.
Sierra Hoover finished fourth for Cambria Heights in 25:03, and Josephine White was fifth in 25:19.

Hess takes second
LOYSBURG -- Matthew Hess finished as the runner-up for Northern Bedford in 18:55 to help the Panthers beat Faith Christian Academy, 6-14, but they lost to Southern Fulton, 24-25.
On the girls side, Carson Miller finished sixth in 21:29 for NBC, but the Lady Panthers lost to FCA, 15-50, and Southern Fulton, 15-50.
