Kauffman helps Central Cambria girls volleyball knock off Dragons

EBENSBURG -- Central Cambria, behind 28 assists and 12 service points from Riley Kauffman, knocked off Central in three sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-10).

Rowyn Ruddek had 17 digs, Mara Pablic finished with 11 kills and Erica Brouse contributed 11 points for the Lady Red Devils.

Madison Ayers and Aubreyalice Flamish led the Lady Dragons with five service points each.

Vikings defeated

THREE SPRINGS -- Glendale and Southern Huntingdon battled through four sets before the Lady Vikings dropped the fifth and final set by an 18-16 score.

Glendale took the second and fourth (25-23 and 25-23) but lost the first and third (25-22 and 25-23).

Rachel McClellan led the Vikings with 17 service points, including seven aces, 22 digs kills and 13 digs, while Hannah Matish finished with 16 points and 16 assists.

Records: Glendale (2-1).

JV: Southern Huntingdon, 13-25, 26-14, 15-8.

Junior high: Glendale, 25-16, 25-19.

Tigers earn road win

JOHNSTOWN -- Hollidaysburg won the first sets (25-5 and 25-13) against Greater Johnstown, dropped the third (26-24) but capped the match off with a 25-10 win in the fourth set.

Nora Stanek led the way with 16 service points, while Isabella Basenback delivered 15 for the Lady Tigers.

Lady Spikers downed

Altoona was defeated in straight sets (25-10, 25-23, 25-17) at the Altoona Fieldhouse in a loss to Mechanicsburg.

Annie Yost led the Lady Lions with nine kills, four digs and three blocks, Maraya Bittner finished with 13 assists and five digs, while Morgon Thompson totaled nine assists and five digs.

Portage wins at home

PORTAGE -- Portage and Penns Manor went the distance with the Lady Mustangs coming away with a 3-2 (23-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-17, 15-13) victory.

Mya Selapack led the way for Portage with 40 assists, eight service points, including four aces, while Kylie Hess delivered 43 digs and Calla Miko finished with 16 kills.

JV: Portage won, 20-25, 25-9, 15-13.

Lady Panthers beat P-O

CRESSON -- Penn Cambria was able to get by Philipsburg-Osceola in three sets by scores of 26-24, 25-19 and 25-13.

Peyton Farabaugh and Makenna McCoy had 12 assists each, Avery LeMaster finished with 10 service points, while Kate Eckenrode registered 10 kills and Lily Gergely finished with five digs and three blocks for the Lady Panthers..

Tyrone bests BC

EBENSBURG -- Tyrone claimed the first two sets (27-25, 25-15), then lost the third (25-21) before taking the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth set over Bishop Carroll.

Abigail Anthony ended her night with 17 service points and 17 digs for the Lady Eagles, Rylan Crowell had 20 kills and 14 digs, while Sidney Goodwin and Raleigh Oliver came through with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Lily Strait led the Lady Huskies with 34 assists, Emily Olienyk had 16 kills, Olivia Gregg tallied 14 digs and Sophie Becquet ended with 10 digs.

Lady Bulldogs swept

CLAYSBURG -- Claysburg-Kimmel was swept in three sets (25-11, 25-19 and 25-21) by West Branch.

Kaitlyn Mortimore finished with 11 digs and six service points for the Lady Bulldogs, Payton Hinish tallied nine assists, while Lauren Roxby and Caroline Bass had five kills apiece.

Burdge leads JV

ALEXANDRIA -- Juniata Valley got a 13-service points, 13-assist and seven- kill performance from Madyson Burdge in sweeping its way past Williamsburg with scores of 25-6, 25-19 and 25-12.

Addie Borst delivered seven points, including five aces, and five kills, while Kaitlyn Sager recorded eight points and Braelyn Hall registered 10 digs for the Lady Green Hornets.

Addy Johnson led the Lady Blue Pirates with six assists, while Karsyn Walter had six digs and Katie Merritts totaled four kills.
