Hart scores big goal for Lady Dragons soccer

ROARING SPRING -- Central senior Carli Hart scored the game-winning goal on a 19-yard shot near the penalty arc lifting the Lady Dragons to a 2-0 win over the Forest Hills in high school girls soccer on Thursday.

Junior Mya Long capped a second goal from a long free kick after a Ranger handling foul. The Dragon defense was able to stave off several goal scoring opportunities especially in the first half. Sophomore keeper Kailyn Gahagan recorded the shutout and had 16 saves.

Tigers top BC

HOLLIDAYSBURG -- Kate Steiner scored in overtime to lift Hollidaysburg (7-4) to a 3-2 win over Bishop Carroll Catholic.

Madison Delauter scored two goals for the Lady Huskies, who fell to 7-4.

Altoona triumphs

Ava Frye scored a pair of unassisted goals, and Altoona's stifling team defense did the rest as the Lady Lions beat DuBois, 2-0, at Mansion Park.

Haylee Rodriguez notched her third shutout in four games for the Lady Lions, who improved to 6-2-1 on the year.
