Jancula earns shutout for Hollidaysburg boys soccer in victory

Hollidaysburg got a goal in each half to blank Bishop Guilfoyle Academy, 2-0, at Tom Irwin Field Thursday night in boys high school soccer play.

Owen Naugle and Bryce Hollingshead picked up the goals for the Tigers, while Alex Arbogast and Asher Miles recorded the assists.

Liam Jancula had three saves in the shutout for the Tigers (7-2).

Golden Eagles cruise

TYRONE -- After only leading 1-0 at the break, Tyrone exploded for four goals in the second half to shut out Central, 5-0, at the Harry K. Sickler Athletic Complex.

The Golden Eagles had five different goal scorers on the night in Tytus Novak, Cameron Nelson, Gavin Tuskovich, Karter Bokulich, and Cameron Coffey. Noah Gulvas and Novak both had two assists.

Devils hold off Ridge

NEW PARIS -- Central Cambria got a pair of first-half goals from Rocco Barra, and that was enough to get a road victory at Chestnut Ridge, 2-1.

Isaac Oravec picked up an assist on Barra's first goal in the fourth minute of the game. Barra's second goal came on a penalty kick in the final two minutes of the first half.

Dom Ponder scored for the Lions, which also came on a PK.

Altoona falls in double OT

Altoona's Galal Ismail scored a goal in the final minute of regulation, but the Mountain Lions fell to DuBois, 2-1, in double overtime at Mansion Park.

Carson Crawford had the assist for Altoona, which dropped to 3-4-1.

LOYSBURG -- The Northern Bedford girls soccer team evened its record at 4-4 Thursday, thanks to a 3-0 win over Southern Fulton in high school play.

The Lady Panthers, up 1-0 at halftime, got solo goals from Yasmin Miller, Hannah Yeatts and Alyssa Yeatts. Teammate Blaire Gable picked up the shutout in goal.

Carroll-McCort triumphs

EBENSBURG -- Tied 1-1 at halftime with Conemaugh Township, Carroll-McCort scored three times in the second half to double up the Lady Indians, 4-2.

Adelyn Myers scored two goals to lead BC, while Madison Delauter added a goal and an assist. Hailey Sossong also added a goal for Carroll-McCort.
