Central boys soccer earns first win of year

JOHNSTOWN — Central got its first win since the 2023 season on Thursday night, beating Richland, 3-2, in high school boys soccer action.
The Scarlet Dragons (1-3-1) got the winning goal from Ben McIntire with 17:02 to play in the second half. Central also got goals from Jacob Heuston and Owen Brown.
Keeper Conner Rudnick got the win in goal against the Rams (2-2).

Andrew Burke scored the winning goal for Bishop Guilfoyle on Thursday night in a 2-1 overtime victory over Penn Cambria. It was reported to the Mirror incorrectly in Friday’s sports section.
4-H competition
Joulia Wolf, a member of the Blair County 4-H Shooting Sports team, recently competed in the national 4-H tournament in Nebraska.
Wolf, who was ranked 37th out of 79 competitors in the muzzleloader event, tied for sixth place in the silhouette category.
